Portable Aerator for Fish & Bait by Fish Food Tackle

The Fish Food Tackle Portable Aerator is ideal when you must keep your bait or fish alive.  Whether it be minnows or small fish, or for aquarium emergencies…this fish aerator will fill in nicely.

After spending too much money on competing aerators for our own personal use, we came up with our own.

We enlarged the lithium battery and even enlarged the air pump for the optimal amount of oxygen pushed into the water, for the longest time possible.

The Future of Tournament Fishing

Before you say to yourself, oh not another FFS rant…it isn’t, but more on that later. I’m writing from the perspective of someone who’s tournament fished awhile, and spent a lot of time paying attention to various fishing series in walleye, musky, and bass. And while I want to say the future looks awesome, I am a bit concerned for many reasons that I will get into in detail. If you’ve paid attention to tournament fishing over the years there are definitely changes. And while normally I think change is good, and it is, it can come with challenges. As I stated, I’ve fished quite a few tournaments over the years. I never claimed to be the best at it,

Creek Chubs

How To Keep Minnows & Bait Alive Properly All Year

How often have you gone fishing, only to come home and find your bait is already half dead? Or even worse, when you leave them overnight and they all die? Nasty. As anglers, we’ve all been there. Replacing bait constantly sucks, and heaven forbid you soil a container on accident; you have to replace that too. I get it, it’s expensive. But what if you actually took the effort to keep your minnows and bait alive all year? It’s really not that hard when you look into it…I will explain. How Do I Keep Minnows Alive? Shad, Fatheads, Creek Chubs, Shiners, Etc. You really can’t throw ALL minnows and baitfish together into one mix.  Some minnows are stronger than others,

Bait Tank

How To Start a Homemade Freshwater Bait Fish Tank

If you’re an angler, the thought has certainly crossed your mind at some point or another…what if I had my own bait tank??? Depending on where you live, buying fresh bait repeatedly for your fishing outings can certainly add up.  Obviously, a bait tank will be a place to store all leftovers and the like, so you always have fresh bait when you go fishing again. Or, it could be that you catch your own bait.  Up in the north country, we catch creek chubs often for our walleye fishing, and keeping them alive in itself can be a challenge. I’ve set up my own bait and minnow tanks myself, both in an aquarium setup and in a chest freezer.

Snow Goose Hunting 101 – Everything You Need to Know to Hunt Snow Geese

Snow goose hunting has to be one of the most psychotic outdoor activities on the planet.  Why?  Well, if you’ve never been on a week-long snow goose hunting trip, it has to be one of the most tiring vacations you’ll ever experience.  I mean, to do this week in and out requires a special type of person, and there are very few that can stand up and claim to know…the grind. What is the grind???  Well, it usually starts WAY TOO EARLY in the morning, and after setting and picking up decoys, cleaning birds, scouting, etc. it ends with a repeat the following day.  With that being said it’s often called a young man’s game, and for good reason. I’ve

Muddy Pro Harness Review

Editor’s Note: I saw Lukas’ story on Facebook and I knew this would be a good reminder about the importance of safety harnesses.  I know someone with permanent back injuries due to falling out of a treestand.  Safety first! I run the Muddy Pro Harness system for bow hunting out of tree stands. The product is awesome and very lightweight coming in at 1.5lbs.   They’re equipped with added shoulder straps for a very comfortable fit and mesh backing. They also feature quick-release buckles for the waist that are very nice and quiet and release very easily! No metal-on-metal noise is an added bonus. Tree strap and tether strap are included, all needed for use is a quick latch hook. Another

Best Video Camera for Hunting – Start Filming Your Hunts

Updated best video cameras for hunting for 2021/2022! I started filming hunts back in 2004, and have been having fun doing amateur videos ever since. I get it, I’m not George Lucas and never will be…but I like having decent video cameras to capture memories as I get older. Nowadays, I like to have the camera rolling whenever I’m out hunting or fishing. You just never know when something BIG is going to happen…like my personal best walleye that I caught on film years back. A worst-case scenario is you acquire no decent footage, which takes about 10 seconds to reformat your SD card and delete it all. This article is really for those interested in self-filming your hunts. The
